Cellular Manufacturing
Over the last twelve months we have further implemented our experience of world-class cellular manufacturing techniques across our range of products, creating "factories within a factory". This actively encourages the concept of smaller batch sizes, in turnmaximising the variety of products that can be produced within a single manufacturing cell. We have successfully developed this philosophy specifically to meet the need to mirror exactly our customer’s schedules, resulting in greater flexibility, and a radical reduction in customer stockholding exposure.
Investment in New Technology
Expansion of our aerospace cold heading facility, with an investment plan for new, additional equipment and in-process support facilities
Further investment in our CNC bar turning manufacturing cells for standard aerospace fastener production, adding machining centres and ancillary plant to support our already world class operation.
Introducing even more manufacturing technology to our already successful engineering and subcontract manufacturing services for customer-specific fastening solutions and precision machining requirements, including complex milling, turning, and third party laboratory testing facilities.

BAS Aerospace has yet again met this challenge with the launch of BAS Express®, a fast-track, ship from stock parts service for aerospace fasteners.
BAS Express® has been specifically developed to support the market need for
immediate fastener requirements from stock, through a fast-track enquiry and
ordering service.

Logistics Support
At BAS Aerospace, our world-class levels of customer service extends
beyond simply the product, to include the very latest in inventory management
technology.
As an integral part of this approach, we have recently introduced computer controlled stock carousels to manage our logistics and distribution activities, specifically introduced to offer an even faster response to customer requirements for our BAS Express products.
Real-time stock transactions, with linkages into both our manufacturing system and our key suppliers, to trigger immediate stock replenishment.
Remote viewing by the customer via the internet of BAS Express stock levels for all parts held, including their status within the manufacturing / procurement lead time.
Bar-coded scanning of stock levels held on third party premises, with immediate downloading to our main operating system for transaction.
Kitting and Assembly Services
We are committed to the concept of value-added services as key to a
successful supply chain partnership, and as such we are reflecting this through the
expansion of our kitting and assembly facilities.
This concept has enabled BAS Aerospace to successfully develop this
service with major aircraft equipment OEMs and sub-contractors both in the
U.K and overseas.
Component / Product Assembly
With our experience and understanding of the importance of aerospace product
integrity, we now offer partial and full assembly, inspection and testing of parts kits.
This unique value-adding service makes full use of our existing in-process inspection and lab-testing facilities, giving the customer confidence that full product
integrity and quality standards are met.
Supply Chain Contract Management and Out-Sourcing Partnerships
To maintain our position as a leading supplier of aerospace fasteners, we
have developed deep skills in managing complex manufacturing schedules and
systems. As part of our philosophy to continually seek ways to further add
value, we have successfully transferred these key core skills to offer a complete
contract management supply chain partnership service for the supply of all class
C components.
Our contract management and outsourcing partnerships are based on three major criteria that we believe are key to all businesses within the supply chain:

Contract Management
BAS Aerospace has proven experience of successfully managing both in-house
manufactured and third-party procured products to customer schedules.
We utilise a fully integrated MRP-based scheduling system to interpret and manage customer schedules. We have recently upgraded our systems to allow for the management of contracts and schedules via the internet, further reducing administration and improving response times.
Out-Sourcing Partnerships
BAS Aerospace are taking standard contract management to the
next strategic level, offering a total supply chain solution for class C products.
Not only can we manage your contracted scheduled requirements, we seek to
manage the total supply chain procurement activity, including responsibility for
managing third-party suppliers and all logistics, distribution and inventory
requirements.
An important difference is that this service is not limited to class C products. BAS Aerospace has the expertise and the infrastructure to manage on our customer’s behalf a strategic part of their procurement activity, by product / service ranges.
